Some Kristen Stewart Sneakers

Some Kristen Stewart Sneakers

Frye shoes / Converse / Keds ® shoes, $48 / Converse sneaker / Converse sneaker, $69 / Canvas Authentic / Womens Nike Starlet Saddle Cvs

Lately I have been really into Kristen Stewart's original comfy, casual style. She used to wear sneakers just about all the time but recently since scoring a job with Balenciaga she has obviously been wearing a lot of their clothes (which I will be having a sneaky look at when I go to Barneys in New York soon!) and looking a lot more 'high fashion' and less casual.

To feed my little obsession lately I have put together this little collection of some of the shoes I have seen her wearing the most. I have had the black Converse high tops since I was 14 and have just started wearing them again recently as I try some of my 'K-Stew' inspired outfits. I have never owned a pair of the low-tops so might have to grab a red and white pair on my travels coming up. Not sure if the Nikes are exactly the same as hers but they are very similar. She has a pair of blue Vans but apparently they are a limited release from 1996 and very hard to get hold of so I posted a similar pair in my collage. I like these black keds even if they do look very basic and simple. I have probably already mentioned that the Frye Kira sneakers are on my definite shopping list. I will be getting a pair of low tops in grey and high tops in black (just like Kristen haha!).

Which celebrity styles do you look to for fashion inspiration? Are you like me and do you like to hunt for exact matches?

Byredo Gypsy Water Eau de Parfum

Gypsy water is my HG fragrance. I haven't found a perfume that sits so well on me and lasts so long since first trying Chanel No.5. (And I think this one is more suited to younger women too).

Ace has decided to feature himself in another post!

Notes:

Top: Bergamot, lemon, pepper, juniper
Mid: Incense, pine needles, Orris
Base: Amber, vanilla, sandalwood

It took me so long to actually buy this because the scent keeps changing the longer I wear it. I would try it on while shopping, fall in love it with, then go back the next time to buy it, only to try it again fresh and decide I don't like it anymore. I think it was coming across as too spicy for me on the first spray as opposed to the warm, comforting vanilla smell I was growing accustomed to as I wore it.

This scent is marketed as 'unisex' however I would find it just a little bit too sweet on a man. MissLewis writes a review on the Mecca website:

"This scent wears impeccably. It's not too sweet, not too feminine or masculine, is not cloying and is not going to overpower your senses. The base notes of vanilla and sandalwood are the most prominent when warmed by the skin. To me this parfum feels like fresh laundry. If you idenitfy with the notes you will probably dicover this to be your signature scent as there is an intangible quality about the blend that makes you feel like you were meant to wear it. Gypsy Water is divine."

I only wish my fresh laundry could smell like this perfume! I definitely can relate to feeling like I was meant to wear it. I feel clean, confident and complete with a spritz of this fragrance.

Gypsy water can be purchased from Mecca Cosmetica in Australia at $158 for the 50ml bottle or $235 for 100ml. This is a very steep price for me but I could not resist treating myself to this one especially since adopting it as my 'signature scent'.

Have you tried Gypsy Water or any other Byredo Perfumes?

Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette

I got myself an Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette yay! Now I know you are all probably thinking, "ummm, welcome to the party" but here it is and better late than never right?!
I'm not going to do a full review or anything because there are billions of them out there already. I just wanted to share the happiness and officially initiate myself into the beauty blogger community now that I own this palette haha! Some quick pictures...

I ordered mine at beautybay.com for $55AUD which seems to be more or less the standard going price for this set. I am really liking the colour of the lip gloss that came with it as well as the double ended brush, very convenient! Beautybay took forever to ship this to me (nearly three whole weeks) but they do offer free international shipping which is nice.

So far I am really loving pistol, verve and snakebite. Can't wait to try out all the others in various combinations!

What looks have you made with this palette? Send me a link or list your fav colours and where to put them around the eyes! Would love some ideas and inspiration to get working on this palette!

October Wishlist

October Wishlist

Wildfox Couture black boatneck sweater
matchesfashion.com

I love this sweater! If I didn't already have two printed white Wildfox jumpers I would have bought this one in an instant, its so cute! It's nearly summer here in Australia too so I would hardly get to wear it :-(

Furry vest
$645 - veryeickhoff.com

I have been seeing a lot of fur vests here and there lately and I like the look. Again, very much a winter item and my timing is terrible but I will perhaps be keeping an eye out for one of these during my upcoming travels.

Frye
$160 - farfetch.com

After my recent FRYE boots purchase I have really gotten into the brand and now have an eye for these kira sneakers. I want the high-top version though but I couldn't find a pic of them in black so here are the low tops. Cute too I think! Very Kristen Stewart too, who I like to channel in my style choices.

True Religion Brand Jeans 'Western Horseshoe' Baseball Cap
nordstrom.com

I see these hats all the time and can't wait to bag myself one when I visit the states!

Face care
lushusa.com

I have been meaning to grab a face mask from lush for quite some time now but I can never decide which one to try first, they all look so delicious!

What have you been lusting over lately?

Second Last Bellabox

I recently cancelled my Bellabox subscription just because I was getting quite a backlog of unused samples and I have too many bits and bobs lying around. This is the one I got for October and I will be receiving one more for November which actually works perfectly because after that I will be going overseas for my big holiday woo!

This month was all about being pretty in pink! In addition to what I have photographed up the top they also sent me a gorgeous pink heart chocolate which I couldn't wait to eat even to take a shot first haha! I have had this box for a couple of weeks now so have been able to give nearly everything a good try.

The Estee Lauder resilience lift is like a slightly cloudy/creamy serum that you can put on any time of day, as often as you want, even over make-up for an instant skin lift. I notice it makes my skin really perky and smooth as I put it on and I love it! They said on the info that over time it can even boost collagen levels in your skin and promote skin elasticity. Not a cheapie though, so might not be buying this one soon but maybe one day. The Clinique turnaround concentrate had the same feel and texture of the resilience lift but claims to work as a serum that accelerates the renewal of skin cells on your face. I have been trying so many different things on my face lately, it's hard to attribute any success to one particular thing but using both of these I have had no problems at all and I am liking the improvements I am seeing regardless!

I was happy to receive TWO lippies in my Bellabox this month. Both pink of course, one, a shimmery and glossy shade from elf and another a pink-stick balm from carmex. Carmex balms never fail to moisturise my lips as I sometimes have problems with this working under harsh air-conditioners (haha poor me) and in an indoor smoking environment. I love how I can whack carmex on and let it work its magic, keeping my lips comfortable and even helping them heal when they get chapped or broken.

Not sure if I am a fan of this shade but will be sure to try the claimed 'instant drying' effect as soon as my nails recover from my last visit to the nail salon (I got acrylics done for a photo shoot).

As you can see this was a very little sample but I was so pleased to see it came with a tiny little push-pump at the top so I didn't have to drop and rub it onto my skin like with so many other fragrance samples, very convenient! This scent didn't really do much for me. It is fresh but I found it very, very floral. I know this is a very popular scent but I guess it's obviously not for everyone.

I have used this twice on my hair after washing it but never got around to blowdrying it. I just let it dry naturally so I can't really comment yet on wether or not it really reduced blow drying time. I did like how it wasn't sticky at all, like many heat protectors and it didn't weigh my hair down or make it look like it was full of product. Some promising qualities, will have to get around to actually doing my hair properly!
